The intention of the organizers of the
festival for the year 2003 is to extend the genre offer as well as the duration.
One of the festival days will be devoted to genre fusions, the offer of
creative workshops will be broadened and the number of performers, especially
from abroad will be increased. The top act of the festival should come from
the first league of American jazzmen. The dramaturgy conception should roughly
copy the succesful model from the year 2002.
To provide enough space for above mentioned intentions, the duration of
the festival was extended to five consecutive days. The dates of JAZZFESTBRNO
were set for April 23 - 27, 2003.
After radical changes in the Edison Garden Club, which was the festival
center this year, the main venue should now be a multifunctional club Fleda
on Štefánikova street in Brno. Another potential venue for prestigious festival
concerts is the atrium of the International Business Center on Příkop street,
which witnessed the memorable performance of Diane Schuur in the year 2002.
The adjoining programs will take place in other jazzclubs and venues in
Brno.
The extension of media partnership with Czech Television will most probably
result in a 45 minute recording of one or more of the festival concerts.
The chances to present your company on the TV screen with the placement
of your firm's logo in the background of the stage are therefore, in comparison
to the previous year, considerably enhanced. |
